HEAT TRANSFER OIL

VULCOTHERM oils are straight mineral oils used for a wide variety of applications. They are high viscosity index paraffinic base oils with good chemical stability, natural oxidation resistance at high operating temperatures and have a low pour point that makes it suitable for outdoor and low temperature uses. VULCOTHERM have good pump-ability at start-up as well as high specific heat and thermal conductivity at all temperatures.

VULCOTHERM oils are recommended for use as a general purpose lubricant in equipment operating under lightly loaded or wasteful conditions e.g. as a flushing oil for cleaning out circulation systems and oil reservoirs during oil change over procedures. Typical applications include conveyors, chains and outdoor machinery. As a heat transfer medium it is suitable for use in sealed systems operating at temperatures up to 300°C. however, care must be taken to prevent sustained high temperatures as this can lead to cracking of the oil and carbonizing of the heater elements or coils.
